Barclay

This is an Anglo-Norman family which in England was known as Berkeley, but which was in Scotland as early as 1165. As Barclay, they were large feudal lords with lands in the northeast generally, and in Fife and Ayrshire as well. The main line in the family was allied to the MacDuffs and the MacFarlanes.
