Blackburn

This descriptive territorial name may have come from any of several disparate sites: the village of Blackburn in Linlithgowshire and another in Aberdeenshrie, a small river in Castleton Parish in Roxburghshire, another in Dallas Parish in Elginshire, and a third in Marykirk Parish in Kincardineshire. The various families are in no way related.
