Bruce

This Anglo-Norman family is thought to have its origins in Brix in Normandy and to have come into England after 1066 and into Scotland by the 12th century. Their feudal lands extended throughout the Scottish-English border region and up the east coast. One branch acquired the Scottish crown by the 14th century.
