Bryce/Bryson

This popular Scottish name was assumed by many who adhered to the Celtic Christian religion and who venerated St. Bricius, a nephew of Martin of Tours. One branch held Drumquhassle Castle near Drymen in Stirlingshire and were allies of the MacFarlanes against the Buchanans. Others were found in the Strathclyde region, with many references to the name in Perth.
